Itinerary

Day 01Arrival in Lahore

Lahore is Pakistan’s cultural heart and one of South Asia’s oldest living cities. Over centuries, it has witnessed the rule of Hindus, Ghaznavis, Ghauris, Mughals, Persians, Sikhs, and the British—each leaving behind layers of history and architecture.

Today is dedicated to exploring Lahore’s iconic landmarks, including Badshahi Mosque, Wazir Khan Mosque, Lahore Fort, Shalimar Gardens, and important Sufi and Sikh shrines. In the evening, experience authentic Punjabi cuisine at the Old City Food Street, where flavors and history come alive.

Day 02 Lahore Exploration & Travel to Islamabad

Spend the morning walking through the Walled City of Lahore, once protected by 12 historic gates. The narrow alleys are filled with bustling markets, carts, and centuries-old shops offering everything from spices to handcrafted goods.

Visit the Tomb of Emperor Jahangir, located just outside the city, and optionally witness the patriotic Wagah Border Ceremony, where the Pakistan–India border comes alive with marching soldiers and cheering crowds.

Later in the day, travel to Islamabad by evening flight or road (approximately 4 hours via motorway).

Overnight: Islamabad

Day 03 Islamabad City Tour

Depending on arrival time, enjoy dinner at Monal Restaurant or Pir Sohawa, offering panoramic views of the capital. Islamabad is calm, green, and beautifully planned.

Visit major highlights, including Faisal Mosque, Pakistan Monument, Daman-e-Koh, and Pir Sohawa for photography and city views.
Please note: flights to Gilgit are weather-dependent; delays or road travel (15–20 hours) may be required if flights are canceled.

Overnight: Islamabad

Day 04-05Islamabad to Gilgit & Fairy Meadows

Fly from Islamabad to Gilgit, the gateway to northern Pakistan, where the Himalayas, Karakoram, and Hindukush ranges meet.

Explore Gilgit town and the surrounding valleys. Visit the Gilgit Suspension Bridge over the roaring river and the ancient Kargah Buddha, carved into a cliff in the 7th century.

Continue to Fairy Meadows, a lush alpine meadow located near Nanga Parbat (8,125 m), the world’s 9th highest mountain. Spend time relaxing, walking around the meadows, and soaking in the breathtaking scenery.

Optional excursions include Naltar Valley, known for its alpine forests, lakes, ski slopes, and glaciers, or nearby valleys such as Bagrot, Danyore, Nomal, and Oshikhandas.

Overnight: Fairy Meadows / Gilgit area

Day 06-07Gilgit to Minapin & Rakaposhi View

Drive approximately 75 km from Gilgit to Minapin Village, a peaceful settlement surrounded by towering peaks. From here, enjoy magnificent views of Rakaposhi (7,788 m), one of the most dramatic mountains in the Karakoram.

Take short walks along trekking paths and enjoy the raw mountain environment, village life, and glacier views.

Overnight: Minapin / Hunza region

Day 08-09Hunza Valley & Karimabad

Travel onward to Karimabad, the cultural center of Hunza Valley. Visit the historic Baltit Fort and Altit Fort, both offering insight into Hunza’s royal past and stunning views of the valley.

Explore local bazaars filled with traditional woolen clothing, handicrafts, and gemstones. Enjoy views of Rakaposhi, Ultar Peak, Golden Peak, and Ladyfinger Peak.

Optional sunset visit to Duikar Viewpoint for panoramic views of Hunza and Nagar valleys.

Overnight: Karimabad

Day 10Karimabad to Skardu

We drive in a 4×4 to head outside Skardu towards the Deosai plains. The journey to the Deosai plains takes around three hours one way through paved and dirt roads. Satpara Lake is on the way here, at about 45 minutes’ distance. Once in Deosai, you can take some rest by Schesoar Lake and just enjoy the view alongside food. When back in Skardu, we visit the famous Shangri La or Lower Kachura Lake. There is an option to reach Islamabad via the Deosai plains.

Day 11Skardu & Deosai Plains

Travel by 4×4 towards the Deosai Plains, one of the highest plateaus in the world. En route, stop at Satpara Lake, located about 45 minutes from Skardu.

At Deosai, relax near Sheosar Lake, surrounded by vast plains, wildflowers, and snow-capped peaks. Return to Skardu and visit Shangrila Resort (Lower Kachura Lake) in the evening.

Overnight: Skardu

Day 12–13Skardu to Islamabad & Departure

Fly from Skardu to Islamabad (approximately 1 hour; weather permitting). Upon arrival, enjoy free time to visit the Lok Virsa Museum or other cultural attractions.

Transfer to Islamabad International Airport for your onward international flight, marking the end of an unforgettable journey across Pakistan’s cultural heartland and high mountain wilderness.
